I have a BIG problem with organized religion in general, his "face verses" and weeping like a sissy. As far as skill on the field, not a clue.
On a personal level, I've had nothing but good experiences with organized religion. When I was 12 I was ousted from public school and almost sent to juvey. Instead, I was sent to St. Peter's Lutheran school and it really turned me around. In high school I went to youth group and had lots of friends and went to church most Sundays. I tried to be a believer but never really was.
I think what we're all looking for is community and purpose. Things we should be doing without bringing fairy tales into it. On the surface, it seems like this is no big deal. That going to youth group and church and doing good works in Jesus' name is nice, and who could possibly be against that.
I'm against that, and this explains pretty much why:
It's Deep Thought Friday and I'm not trying to hate, so try not to be too mad at me. Richard Dawkins can be not likable and cold, but if you can get past the surface I think what he says is sound. The video is part one of five.
*The title is in reference to another thread. Actually I would rather look at Tim Tebow's face.
