Yep. I did a ton of hang gliding in the 90s.

As in, hang gliding pilots license, had my own glider and equipment. Not tandem flying as a tourist, like you're talking about.

And, you're probably talking about paragliding, since that is MUCH more prevalent than hand gliding as a tourist thing.

But anyways, DO IT!!! It's quite safe in the kind of situation you're talking about and it's an amazing experience. You're in a VERY popular tourist destination. It's not going to be a sketchy pilot or a sketchy operation, and soaring ocean bluffs is one of the safest environments for gliding, anyways. Smooth air and beautiful. Do it.

That is all.

I would try paragliding, if they allowed fat guys to participate.

Looks safer than hang gliding thats for sure.

Not necessarily. Paragliders, lacking a solid frame, are prone to collapse mid-flight in strong turbulence (don't worry, IAG, not an issue in the kind of flying you're going to do). Hang gliders have a much higher airspeed, making take-off and landing much trickier. People tend to do riskier flying in hang gliders.
