He says he has some bad news. All the labs came back and you have ________.

:wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

which do you prefer he says:

a) Alzheimers
b) Terminal Cancer (because Alzheimers is terminal as well, so something semi-advanced)
c) Full blown AIDS

they are all shitty...which is least shitty?

sorry reno.....I only brought it up because I know iag is a big pile of information on Alzheimers and may open some eyes to the disease....but I think you are right...I don't want to talk about this

lets stop this thread...I don't like being dark

On a serious note, if I was diagnosed with a terminal disease and was facing a miserable existence until I died I would leave the earth on my own terms.

If I was advised of being in the early stages of Alzheimers I doubt I'd be alive a week later.
(I mean officially advised, by a doctor, not a fellow gamelive poster).

I typed up a giant diatribe about Alzheimers the other day.... and the horrors and cost to the US ..like a trillion dollars a year or something by 2020? It is going to be so bad when the boomers get older....but I deleted it as decided it was too dark and preachy....

But people should do their research...If you live long enough you will more than likely get it..and it is a BAD bad thing..truly the long goodbye. There are things that can help stave it off and persons should utilize all the info they can.

more than likely?

Of all the people I know or have known only 1 friends mother has Alzheimers.

My grandparents all lived in to their 80's and 90's and died of a heart attack or stroke - my parents are both still alive and well and healthy, my old man is 77 and in awesome shape, I have to yell at him to not run down the stairs when he has to get something out of the freezer - fucker thinks hes still a teenager.

I gotta disagree that most will get it.

You can disagree all you want. I know the numbers. Key phrase is IF YOU LIVE LONG ENOUGH. You are lucky if you have not had much experience with it but my mom was 83 when diagnosed ..prior to that healthy as a horse, mall walking every day etc etc.... ALso many people cannot afford the testing to truly diagnose Alzheimers so they label it dementia or other things....I promise you, this is much more pevasive than people think.
