At current difficulty its predicted you'd get a return of approx 150%pa from a 60GH/s setup.

Not bad for sitting around and letting the computing power do all the work..

This site is neglecting the impressive rate at which the difficulty has been increasing.

Might help you better estimate the amount, but I would'nt take it for granted as the increases in diff has been increasing EVERY time for the past couple months. On a graph it looks exponential with no real reason to slow down.

If I were him I'd start getting that money back ASAP, but I don't know when he paid for it and how he did. Regardless he lost and I hope it doesn't ruin his opinions on bitcoin :(.

Yes there are only 28 coins to be mined from each block now, hence the exponential difficulty factor.

Definitely -EV at this stage for btc...Ltc however...hhhmmmm
