Do you mind if I ask how you got your furniture and boxes from NY to SF? I'm trying to figure out the best and cheapest way to ship/move some of my stuff from Denver. I think most stuff they say is almost cheaper to just replace if it's high weight and not sentimental (dishes etc.) If anyone else has any ideas would love to hear.

Now in San Fran rents are MORE expensive than NYC and I'm looking for an apartment in a landlords market. UGH. I'm looking in The Mission, Hayes Valley and SOMA. Apartments here are so super tiny. A 400 square foot studio is, no lie, like, $2,500 a month. INSANE.

Don't worry if you moved to San Francisco to enjoy San Francisco it won't be happening in your apartment. If it is you're doing it wrong.

Be grateful you have a pair of tits when apartment hunting. It's FAR easier than you can imagine.

Places to eat

Zuni's Cafe, its one of my favorite cookbooks.

Coi, Flour + Water, SPQR, Spuce.

You check out Chez Panisse in Berkeley.

REDD and the French Laundry in Napa.

Oakland food scene is growing too, Commis has a top notch reputation.

Not only is the city among the least affordable in the country, but it saw a steep rent increase between May 2012 and May 2013.

It's right behind SF on that list.

The thing with Boston, is boston proper is so small, you could live in one of the suburbs and still be a 10 minute train ride from downtown. Downtown Boston is getting expensive, not just for rents, but for condos, more people moving into the city.

:bashing:

You could do that in any big city.

Who the fok wants to live in the burbs.

Need to be within walking distance to work.

what the fuck do I know, I havent paid for rent in Boston since April 2012. shit could be different, but I had a studio on beacon street for $1200. Which I feel would be at least twice as much in NYC.
