SOV ... Its not to late to save some face

I like Matty's posts here. Sov seemed like some kid with an English accent. That was the extent of his "persona".
Businesses who extend credit take a calculated risk and hardly deserve sympathy if their gamble does not pay off.
They are not loaning money as a personal favor for a friend. Perhaps you can create a bookie credit rating service.

Ray, if you think somebody needs to call their bookie after their family tree died at a reunion you might need a vacation.

if someone is trying to get a hold of you a handful of times a week, even if your life is in shambles due to something else, you can find 1minute to return a text and set something up...i mean common...the book doesnt know your troubles, they are just trying to conduct business...when you completely ignore the situation and fall off the face of the earth, you are a dickbag who is stiffing, bottom line... you will answer calls or text from everyone else except the guy you owe money to or the guy calling on behalf of him... you will take time to make some new facebook friends, but dont have time to send a simple text? you see where this is going?

Real mature.

RR, looks like public here at GL is going against you! I mean what did you expect to hear from posters who are telling you not to trust them no matter what they tell you?

Look, been in your corner on this one from the beginning my friend! I'm telling you ..... like you don't know ...... I can be trusted! My 5d account is low and I luv Marq tonight! Anyway can get say 300 ..... 200 credit for this one!

mr.m .. i would gladly set you up with a 5d agent...post up only

and you know i dont care about the public perception on this thread... i said what i have to say... if guys want to try and blame someone else for sov stiffing, thats their warped opinion...doesnt effect the way you or me see it.

I still have a real hard time believing that anyone posting this long went away for a nickel. Just doesn't make sense. Rehab maybe? Maybe I'm nave, but I have a feeling this will get resolved. Unless he was into someone else....was his credit limit maxed Ray?

Perhaps he didn't disconnect his phone, but rather had his phone shut off for non payment..maybe he was trying to win phone bill money..who knows...

I think this must hit you on some sort of personal level Ray...cause Lord knows this agent has been stiffed by many more for MUCH more money. Is it because you considered him a "friend?" I remember when he was looking for someone and I had given him another book (which by his admission was very favorable in soccer lines)...but he was adamant that he wanted to play at 5 dimes though, so I did keep referring him back to said agent...at the time though he was pushing the post up thing. He seemed like such a genuinely nice guy but then again so did Alldogs. I still think there is something else going on here. At least I would like to think so.

Would you feel the same if a book stiffed you? It's No different. I understand people get in binds, but a little communication goes a long way. People shut off communication, they shouldn't post, fok em.

For the record, I like SoV and am friends with the person stiffed.

Of course I'd be pissed if I were stiffed.

I understand where Ray is coming from. I also don't have a problem with what Ray does, he lives in a (somewhat) free country.

(I also understand drug dealers just provide a service).

I like Ray. My impression of him is that he's a smart dude and knows the bizness.

I also understand that bookies make a living off of losing gamblers, they cut winners, the business isn't glamorous, it's shady.

Do I agree with SoV stiffing? Not at all, but whoever took his action did so for profit, he took a risk and lost.

Too bad. Move on.

PS: I only have one experience with a bookie. Met him at a card game and he said he would book my horse wagers (I bet gimmicks mostly) and am definitely down alot lifetime betting horses. He took my action and the first night I bet with him i hit 3 trifectas and was up over $2k. He paid me $600 but made me wait a few days for the rest.

When I met up with him the next time he paid me in full and told me he wouldn't take my action anymore and that he could have paid me the other night but wanted to make me wait, cause he was pissed off.

That is my only experience with a bookie.

I won't bet on credit.

i was expecting the normal "i got sick or someone died" excuse ..IF we ever heard back from him...which we havent... the sorry thing about it is that he was active on facebook a week after he went missing...so there is absolutely no excuse for picking up and going into hiding like he has...

it just bothers me because im having a bad track record with the guys that ive sent over... i didnt make such a huge fuss out of breads sorry ass owing thousands because bread doesnt give a shit about anything and hasnt in a long time... he will tell you he is a stiff and doesnt give a fuck and go about his business... but chat and forums were huge in sov's life and i feel bad that the moron didnt even try...didnt reach out for help or ask for a plan or anything...

yeah, the 500 means little to nothing...hope people realize that

Plommer - is there limits on wiring money to books from Canada? Just wondering.

Sending funds offshore from Canada?

No limits as far as I'm aware.

HSBC Canada has a feature that lets you send a wire transfer from your desktop using their online banking, every other Canadian bank makes you do wire transfers in person.

I've never sent funds directly to a book using a wire, I wire funds to moneybookers and send it to/from books using my moneybookers account.

Sending funds via wire to moneybookers takes 48-72 hours, receiving wires from moneybookers can take anywhere from 12-48 hours depending on date/time requested etc.

I usually request moneybooker withdrawals on Sunday and the cash is in my bank account Monday morning at 10AM.
