What I (cause "we" would imply "I" was speaking for "us") learned this week in football:

NFL:

RGIII is not your average rookie quarterback. The kid has the skills to be an impact performer in this league. No, the Saints are not one of the premier defenses in the league and yes they were without several regular players as well as some members of the coaching staff but for a rookie to go on the road in a hostile environment in his first start and put up a 40 spot is certainly impressive.

Andrew Luck, welcome to the NFL.

Denver Broncos. If John Fox and his offensive coordinator will stay out of it and allow Elway to simply do what he does things will go well. On the flip though the Broncos defense showed signs of missing Tim Tebow in their opener. They were timid and lax, things they could not afford to be when Tebow was under center. Having a future Hall of Famer running the offense is nice but it also is potentially harmful for your defense to not play 100% on every snap.

Dallas Cowboys. On first impression things definitely look as thoug ol Jerry has finally got the key pieces in place. That said though Romo still has to prove hes not a homo when the playoffs roll around.

Miami Dolphins actually are that bad.

San Francisco 49ers came out strong and Alex Smith has improved as much as any quarterback in the league in a very short time. He looks poised and in control. An impressive road opener doesnt automatically put you in the playoffs obviously but it certainly shows this team is ready to defend the NFC West crown and are a good bet to go deep if they stay healthy.

New England Patriots. New year same old story. How the fok did I not think to grab Gronkowski?

New York Jets, scored how many points? Sanchez just dashed the hopes of many Tebow backers, well until next week that is.

College:

Arkansas? They lost to who?
Sure Arkansas came out probably looking ahead to next weeks contest with Alabama and never gave UL Monroe much of a thought. Well not much of a thought that is until Monroe stepped up and smacked the Razorbacks dead in the mouth. Certainly key players getting hurt in the game had a severe impact but dont take away from the fact that UL Monroe played up the competition and shocked SEC country with an amazing win. So Arkansas can put that loss behind them now and focus on the team they were looking ahead to, ummmmmmm, maybe they should go ahead and start looking ahead to next week as well cause its gonna be nasty when the Tide roll in.

USC, shut the fok up already about the fokn (sorry VegasDave) USC Trojans. Oh and before all the hype starts in on how UCLA is a true contender in that its just as good only different than the SEC Pac 12, you shut the fok up too. Oregon is the best you have and thats still not fokn good enough.

Texas A&M and Missouri, lol, welcome to the SEC. Neither of you played the best the SEC has to offer and you should have just gotten a lesson in how far away from where you thought you were you actually are.

Wisconsin, WTF?

SEC East, boys I know youll do your best but even though its well down the road the SEC West will still win another SEC Title.

Ohio State, FOK Ohio State!!!!!!!!!!

Nebraska, after USC and Ohio St FOK U TOO!!!!!!!!!!

Great read, ty.

I was very impressed with how well Denver was put together. I really do think they can win the conference.

Chicago just looks like a force to me. Cutler is throwing lasers and short of significant injuries again I like them to in the NFC though you are right San Fran is a machine. I very much enjoyed Vernon Davis stuffing himself trying to dunk the football.

I don't think anyone saw that coming with RGIII

When Miami and New England play, will the line be 20+?

:bread:

Most importantly Jay Cutler always looks like he just cried and this is where his tube steak goes at night.

Wrong on pretty much all accounts.

They weren't that great in the Big 12. Why would they think they'd come to the SEC and dominate? It's not like either team lost badly. They both had chances to win their games.

Wisconsin, WTF?

They were highly overrated to begin the season. Their opener probably should have told people something.

What does an SEC title get you?

Ohio State, FOK Ohio State!!!!!!!!!!

Why?

LOL, uhhhhhhhhhhhhh, don't like my roundup, write your own, GENIUS!!!!!!!!!

Wally I found your write up funny. I'm surprised you had nothing to say about the Falcons juggernaut offense which scored on every possession until there were 3 minutes left in the game and we asked our punter to make a punt because he was going to get a paycheck without playing.

I couldn't comment there Pav's cause I didn't know that and didn't see any highlights on the game. I only knew that the -2.5 wasn't the trap I was worried it might be. Course the same couldn't be said for the Seattle line.

Glad you had a great Sunday.

Would it have killed ya tou have posted any of those before the fact?

My biggest wagers were made "live".

When GB had possession early in 1Q I got SF +6.5 +100.

In the late game I had UNDER 23 1half and Pitt had a 3 point lead so I bet Denver moneyline +100.

I couldn't have posted those.

Plus, who the fukk would have taken Browns?

Savannah St. plays North Carolina Central next week though. So, I guess we'll really see how good Florida St. actually is.

Murray St. lost by 22 to Central Arkansas, so we already know that Florida St. is at least three times better than Central Arkansas.

Good assessment considering that they've played two juggernauts in Murray St. and Savannah St. so far this season.

Wally. You're way off.

Get back to me at the end of the season.

My thoughts on FSu have nothing to do with who they've played and everything to do with who they are. They are one of the most if not maybe the most physical, speedy and athletic teams on both sides of the ball. If and yes this is a key "IF" Manuel doesn't make stupid errors this team will be close to as dominant as Alabama was last year.

For the record I do not like FSU, as a Gator fan I really don't like FSU but I like talent and they certainly have it in spades.

Do I detect that you do think USC is ALL THAT?

It's hard not to look like a team of future NFL Hall of Famers when you've played the teams they've played.

The only thing they have going for them is a shitty schedule.

Focker, I know your tactics are sometimes geared towards not actually focusing on what is being said and that's great when you're pummeling Daft, but read this again "champ", it has nothing to do with who they've played and everything to do with who and what they are.

They will go 12-0 with their only real threat on the road being at Virginia Tech. Clemson another true test being Clemson. Now when I say true test I mean in the sense of it's a decent game against a conference opponent.

However, due to their conference they could very easily come through the season in much better health than teams like Alabama or an LSU. Even at full strength I honestly believe this FSU team would be all either could handle and could (not a sure bet but could) win. While I say "could" for Alabama I would be very willing if it were available to go all in on WOULD beat the piss out of USC.
