Well it is pretty much official at this point. I just didn't get into these Olympics like I thought. I guess it is the combination of the wrong time zone and working a 9-5 job. First time I have been in that situation in many an Olympics.

I felt pomped at the start and I picked up on a few things along the way but overall - not pomped.

The Olympics have left me with a few conclusions:

Bolt is a once in a lifetime athlete but I can't get into it - the races are just too short

Again, working from home is awesome, I get to see it all.

The best volleyball in the world is being played in Brazil. It doesn't matter that they didn't gold in Men's or Women's Beach. They are the best and it isn't close. RIP Misty and Kerri I strongly doubted them this time because they looked bad for a set but wow what a performance. Them hanging it up while both still being much younger than me makes me feel old.

Badmitton is rigged

Dan Patrick is so continuously on point it isn't even funny. We should truly appreciate everything he does, I would be gay for him instantly if so fortunate to be asked

When Serena Williams is healthy she destroys everyone

Seeing Murray win was just cool; wasn't there some Serbian dude who was good? Lendl is a good coach. I miss Pete Sampras.

I was not familiar with the song Muse did and, since I have every Muse CD that has been released and have listened to the shit out of all of them, I have to assume it is from a new upcoming CD.

I am glad if they have a new CD, however it is my opinion that an Olympics closing ceremonies is not a place to be pushing your new stuff. It is a place to play your most familiar stuff.

My 2 cents on that.



Also, The Who changed the words to their own song and I felt kind of ashamed for them. Instead of It's only teenage wasteland, Roger sang It's not just teenage wasteland.

Really weak shit IMO. I remember The Doors going on Ed Sullivan and not changing the words to Light My Fire. That's the way rock and roll is supposed to be. The Who used to stand for something. They were the kick-ass voice of a generation. That was so namby pamby.

I understand that talking about a teenage wasteland at the Olympics is not appropriate. So sing a different song. It's not like The Who only has 2 songs.

Major facepalm on that.
 
Reminded me of when Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt covered Neil Young's After The Goldrush and the changed the proper words of

I felt like getting high

to

I felt like I could cry



Stupid. If you don't want to do the song, just don't do the fucking song.
