I wanna go where people are leaving. Probably not where they're leaving really fast - like near an active volcano or anything. But somewhere that's becoming less populated.
Probably pretty hard to find.
Depopulation
Big in Africa mostly cause of wars. There's also a noticeable decline in the ex-Soviet countries. Besides countries that are in natural ethnic long term decline like Germany, Ukraine and Japan.
I think what you want MF is a country that is not as densely populated, with very liberal laws: Uruguay
Population 3.2 million, it's around the 200th place in countries by population density
When Panama opened it's books to the IRS last year a lot money flowed to Uruguay as they did some pertinent law changes in financial privacy.
It's a country with open borders. Along with Argentina, it is one of the few countries in the world that never changed it's immigration stance since the colonial days. Pretty much anyone from any country is welcomed.
It's a country of 90% European Caucasians descent. You'll physically fit in, and believe me, that can be a big barrier for lots of expats.
The current President, Mujica, used to be a guerrilla fighter, a revolutionary. There's a huge national unity behind his administration currently in the country. It's something very rare to see in latin america. He is a dreamer and is actually making social changes to the country in a rapid way. For example, legalizing marijuana. Giving each child K-12 a free laptop with free wifi connections in every school. Etc, etc, etc. He doesn't live in the Presidential House, lives in his normal 2 br 1 ba house, house of all his life, in a normal neighborhood, with almost no security.
