computer question

Can I raise the volume on my computer? Right now when I have it on full volume - and by that I mean the little button on the desktop as well as the setting in the control panel for "Sounds and Audio Devices" - it is too quiet.

Is there anything else I can do?

Buy amplified speakers.

Muddy, aren't you going to need powered speakers anyway for your recording software?

I've had the same Roland (Stereo Micro Monitor MA-8) ones for years and they're great.

I have a couple of speakers which are connected to my audio interface but the computer sound doesn't come through them at the moment. Maybe once I learn how to work the recording stuff, I will see how to make that happen.

does anyone actually have any hearing aids?

I've been partially deaf in my left ear for most of my life due to some bad infant ear infections.

and 6 years in the oil refineries and lumber mill combined with 6 years of lots of running with head phones on full blast killed my right ear off pretty good too.

someone give me some hearing aid advice,....

could try updating audio drivers. had problems myself with laptop speakers and it fixed volume levels. still cannot drown out my sorrow however :

Windows 7 Click on speaker lower right hand corner then mixer link. You can adjust specific sound levels for various programs/overall levels there.

Good. Enjoy spending time here in refuge of the damned occasionally. Toilet paper roll cokks, inadequacy inducing anaconda black erect appendages and insider hoo ha create high barriers to entry though. Still better than SBR kind of put off by level of patheticness of posters there now though maybe times tough for lots of people so who am I to judge?
