I usually make the same resolution every year at this time.

I resolve to not make any new years resolutions.

I think I would like to be funnier in 2012, and I don't mean funnier looking.

Plommer is gonna make himself laugh harder and more often in the new year.
(to make up for the less intense sex and orgasms he will receive as he ages)

I make New Years Resolutions pretty much every year and it usually ends up being a good thing for me. I tend to phrase them in a way that sets myself up for success. Like I won't resolve to complete some big onerous project, I will resolve to make progress on it. When I look at something in those terms, it's hard to fail really. Any little thing can be seen as progress. But then when I do make some progress and succeed with the resolution, I feel so good that I informally re-resolve to make more progress and all the little bits of progress add up to something big. (Usually.)

In that way, I kind of play psychological games with myself - but it works. (Usually)

So my resolution for 2012 is to make progress on the big musical project I have had percolating for a couple years now: a full-length, full production CD of original material. I will need to do some more writing and buy some equipment and learn how to use/play it. Other steps may suggest themselves as I go along such as possibly networking with other musicians. But anyway that is the gist and that is my big plan for 2012. Big progress.

We shall see.

Really? I woulda bet alot of dough that it would have been something related to condoms and/or retrieving them from vaginal canals.

My bad.

Happy New Year Muddaaaaaaaay!

keep me posted, would love to have a c.d.

my new year's resolutions also include music, but as a spectator/listener. want to go listen to live stuff at least 52 times in 2012, think i may have only reached 28-30 this year.

i'm also intending to drop the 7-8 pounds i've put on since thanksgiving and learn to make good empanadas (which means learing to make a good pastry dough), which between them could be very difficult resolutions to conquer simultaneously.

It is very nice and encouraging to see people saying they would like to hear my CD. I look forward to getting it out there. Many of you have heard several of the songs but not in their final versions. I have big plans for arrangements.

It won't be really soon though. While I plan to make lots of progress in 2012, I have had a goal in mind for completion which is my 50th birthday - which is mid 2013. That feels realistic.

So hopefully we'll all still be hanging around this joint.
