Cruising downtown Toronto at 3am.

It was obvious he was following me (for minutes - making every turn I made) and when he pulled up alongside me at a red light I winked at him in an exaggerated manner.

He lit up his cruiser lights and pulled me over.

After viewing my license and insurance he asked me if I had been drinking, to which I replied I had not consumed any alcohol, then he asks what I was doing in the area, I did not respond, then he asks me where I was staying (my car is registered in Saskatchewan), still no response from me.

I see he is getting annoyed by my lack of response and just before he asked another question I said I thought I was within my rights as a citizen to not be required to speak to the police. He stopped asking questions and told me he saw me driving around the same area repeatedly and was suspicious.

Driving around the area where you used to live in the city of your birth/upbringing is not a crime in Canada.

In Canada if you are operating a motor vehicle you must identify yourself to the police if requested and to be in possession of a valid license and insurance, you do not have to answer their questions.

I didn't.

Since I also wasn't committing any criminal code offences or Highway traffic act offences I ws not charged with anything and was on my merry way.

Got a blowjob about 15 minutes later. Set me back $20.

Don't they need probable cause there?

Although, my brother and I got surrounded by three squads one night outside of my friend's bar waiting for him to close. One of the officers said we were "hunkered down" in the car. I asked him what he meant by that. He said we looked suspicious. "Can you show me how to sit in a car and wait so I don't like suspicious?" The exchange went on for a while before I told him that I didn't appreciate being harrassed over nothing and he subsequently threatened to give me a disorderly conduct. I told him to go ahead and give me the ticket so I can make him look ridiculous in court.

They ended up letting us go shortly afterward. Just ridiculous.

Gamelive needs to sticky this thread. Posters can talk about their experiences with police (obviously only bad experiences because talking about good experiences is really boring).

Also, this is a Tough Guy Only Zone so if you have had experiences with police where you didn't act like a tough guy, please do not bore us with your boring self.

Mods, can we make this happen?
