How can i get my parents to approve of parkour?

We live in a small town where there is only one gymnastics center. They do not teach parkour classes and I don't think my parents understand what "urban gymnastics" is. They say parkour is dangerous, but if you learn the proper techniques at a gym first, its just as safe as gymnastics.
