Happy 90'th birthday Marion!

This is my mothers mother, I always made her laugh and earned "favourite grandchild" status with her a long time ago (I was her first grandchild - 1 of 6)

Will call her later today at her birthday party at my aunts house near Toronto.

Marion was born in Everett, Ontario to Ukrainian/Polish immigrant parents that originally emigrated to New York city - they moved to Canada in the early 1900's after trying their luck in Florida and NY.
I believe the motivation to head north was that they got a chance to buy farmland in the Alliston ON area at a cheap price.
 
Just got off the phone with my grandmother, she was happy to hear from me.

I told her I will be in Toronto in December for Christmas and will see her then.

It was important for me to call her today, at 90 who knows how much longer the old gal will be with us.

She is, my mother went to the retirement home to pick her up and take her to her birthday party at my aunt's place so she could be with her remaining children and grandchildren AND great grandchildren!

happy 90th, marion. love to hear stories like this one, was fortunate enough to have 3 of 4 grandparents make their 90's and learning how they landed where they did, when they did was cool.
