teela, i know...i know... sometimes you just gotta have it to get going in the mornings....

before its arrival, if you presented Starbucks to me as an investor, i would have told you that there is no way in hell the idea could make money... they are losing ground stores here and there now, but damn if they didnt take the coffee world by storm

I just know I can't trust all the way in, in certain positions or I make big al's very hurty...


Teela, I snort the dried up uterus dust of old black ladies like a drug. It has many health benefits

I guess people do that but the cup of coffee I have show here is ~$1.50.

Still, even that seems crazy if you analyze it. I buy a big can of coffee for, what, 6 bucks? Months and months, these things last. I wonder how many cups of coffee I get out of it. It's hard to even estimate - the cans last so long. Gotta be over 500. Maybe 1000? The water doesn't cost anything. The equipment is not free but is not exactly a big ongoing expense. Dribble a little milk in there and we're talking, what, 2 cents for a cup of coffee?

Pretty good mark up by those coffee shops. But I guess it's all about overhead.
 
Well I don't claim that my tab technique will save the world. Coffee still gets by there - otherwise you couldn't drink. If you dump the cup on it's side, you will have a spill all the same.

I do not expect a Nobel Prize for this thread.

But it is all about continuous improvement and I do find there is a positive effect on backsplash reduction.

rogie...i havent done any actual research, so to speak, but in the last year or so, memphis closed down 2 or 3 (cant rmember) starbucks and a buddy of mine who was involved on the real estate end of a handful of them here, says they wont build anymore in my area..so i dunno :dunno:... a little mom and pop place opened up on a main street and sells nothing over $4 i think it is and a few others followed suit...had to hurt

I also have noticed a dramatic increase in my coffee drinking on days I do not work. It is nothing for me to drink anywhere from 3 to 6 cups. On days I work...not a drop. Diet Coke and tea all the way.
