The number of Toronto police earning more than $100,000 a year spiked dramatically in 2010.

Last year, 2,159 officers took home at least six figures, not including taxable benefits. That number is up from 1,329 in 2009 and 1,006 in 2008.

Making the list for the first time this year is Const. Adam Josephs, a.k.a. “Officer Bubbles.” Josephs, who last year earned $108,197.45, threatened to arrest a G20 demonstrator for blowing bubbles, a moment that was captured on video and became a YouTube hit last summer.

Chief Bill Blair made $325,940.14 in 2010.
In 2009, the chief earned $309,491.19.

And for the third year in a row, Traffic Services Const. Michael Thompson was included on the so-called “sunshine list” of public sector employees in Ontario who earn at least $100,000. Last year, Thompson made $166,095.43, which is nearly double his base salary.

The salaries include base pay, overtime, court time and retroactive pay, but do not include paid-duty assignments. The list was released Thursday afternoon.

(Remember that $100K Canadian = $103K USD)

Daft: Do cops in Florida earn $100K a year? (Not including drugs stolen from drug dealers during busts).

I think you want to be a Toronto cop.
No, I just want to earn over $100K Canadian Dollars per year.

I do believe I'll make close to $60K this year from the end of February to December here in Sask.

I know I could make more hauling crude but that is actual work, this gig I have now is precious.

Sell real estate or some shit.
Matty, I like easy money pal, real estate ain't easy. Too many (established) agents in Toronto.

Matty, I sleep most of the day pal.
No commute, I walk 200 metres to work and have few expenses - food and accommodation cost me nil.
I'm good here for a few years.
