Pretty Hate Machine is easily in the Daft Top 20 albums of all time. So many great tracks. Terrible Lie, Head Like A Hole, Down In It..........so sick......the whole damn album.

I haven't liked a Duran Duran song for 10 years and now I'm totally into 2 of their new songs

I'd ask what you like about it but that would get us nowhere.

It's just some guy who's passionately singing about random inane, self-absorbed stuff, backed by completely generic, uninteresting music.

I'm doing some post hockey boozing now Matty so I'm not afraid to go nowhere.

Here's what I like about it in order of importance:

1) The bass line is very tasty
2) The tempo of this track is right up my alley
3) Great vocal melody throughout. It makes me want to play it again. (melodies and music being subjective you realize of course).
4) The percussion thing in the very beginning (proceeded by the slide guitar thing that starts the track. I like the contrast)

I guess you had to be there. In the 80's I mean. I was listening to the Beatles with some Alice Cooper and Beastie Boys sprinkled in.

I can't even stand 80's Zappa and I'm the biggest Zappa fan you'll be weirded out by.

I think the main conclusion we can take away from this is:

Matty and Daft have very different tastes in music. It's what makes the world go round, Matty.

FWIW, I'm a huge Beatles fan and Pass The Mic is one of my all time favorite tracks.
