I used to know the story of how Toto got their name. Can't recall the details just now. I believe Toto was their second choice but the name they wanted already had something going on with it. Or maybe it was that someone else wanted the name Toto, but Toto already had it, so that other band ended up going with a plan B.

Not sure. Anyway, something definitely happened and Toto ended up being called Toto.
