Most of my friends have one generation of ipad or other and i've used them quite a bit. They are a decent product but I don't think they are worth the money for what you get. It's basically the cache of owning an apple product and whatever misguided satisfaction someone achieves from the branding. But if that's what floats their boat/they don't care about money I have nothing against it really and i would surmise the functionality is right for a majority of users.

I have no real compelling use for a tablet atm but if I had to buy one I would look into buying a chinese tablet with android. A lot of people would scoff but the build quality/functionality is excellent from some manufacturers at a very reasonable price point.

Here's some discussion on the topic:

Also youtube the product reviews to give you a better of idea.

If you're into gaming at all however ipad is the clear choice.

I'm not looking to purchase an iPad to make calls. I don't even think that it's possible unless you are using Skype.

I was confused by your question. All of my friends who own ipads also own iphones. My neighbor who is a salesman has both. When he wants to talk to a client he uses the iPhone but when he wants to work like looking at invoices or products he uses the ipad. So when he is on the road he carries both the iPhone and the iPad in his truck. But he also has an iMac for when he wants to work in his home office. But he likes the fact that he can use any of the 3 devices to do his work. From what I understand you can't make the devices compatible if they are not all from Apple. Like you can't have an iPad, an Android smartphone and a Windows laptop. It will all get screwy.

Cons:

1) Overpriced (see what mr.market said)
2) Only PAWNS use Apple products
3) it looks like its finally going to get dealt with but books are way overpriced due to collusion

Pro's

1) fantastic for long plane rides (great battery life)
2) photos look outstanding
3) its a great e-reader (indoors)
4) you'll love iCloud as an iPhone/iPad user

Salut!

Guess I'm a pawn. The only people who think they are overpriced don't own one. I would bet the customer satisfaction of an Apple product is mighty high.

I been thinking about getting one for a bit. Yeah the price is a little high, but doesn't bother me, I just wonder if i would use it enough.

If I use something I dont mind paying a premium, I just hate buying shit and having in sit in the corner.
