I don't see a scroll lock key anywhere, I am using an Acer laptop.

Press shift and ctrl at the same time. that should fix it.

Ok, found the scroll lock (f12) but that doesnt seem to do anything.

Also tried shift and ctrl, no luck either.

Solved!

It was the regional settings that needed to be changed, I installed Zune to sync my Windows phone and I had to change location from default USA to Canada. Something got changed that shouldn't have.

As soon as I switched to English (US) from English (Canada) the problem stopped.

Thank you USA, you guys once again saved the day!

Plommer I've had this EXACT same problem on my acer notebook for two years since I bought it and could never figure out how to change it so I just kind of gave up on it and just attempted to be the 'anti-jeopardy and not form any sentence in the form of a question. I bought a new acer notebook a few months back and the question mark worked fine. Using your advice I am going to attempt to solve the this on my older one. One question though, to save me time trying to figure it out where to go........how do I get to the change location part of my computer? (Yes typing this on the acer that does allow me to use the question mark.)

If you're using Windows 7 just type "regional and language" in the search bar.

That will bring up the link to the settings page and you can navigate from there.

At first I thought it may be a virus, but after searching online I was led down the path that made it easy to figure out.
