Anybody know anything about a .tmp virus?

I think I might have gotten it from letmewatchthis.ch. Or maybe a putlocker sublink.

The Gamelive site is all fucked up for me right now. All strung out and graphically screwed up. Facebook was acting weird until I went to the https site.

I've got Norton and System Mechanic. Ran a full scan on Norton and I don't think I caught it. Every time I reboot I get a message saying there's no program associated with this tmph2967.....(long number)...342.tmp file and asks whether I want to search the web for a solution.

Any help would be appreciated.

I can't find an associated program. Neither can Windows apparently, hence the message at reboot.

System Mechanic is stiffing me too. Keeps hanging up.

I once got a virus from a pop up. I clicked the x in the upper right hand corner and that spread the virus. So by looking you might have accidentally made it worse. You might need a pro to clean it.

Sounds like it could be some sort of generic trojan, perhaps the problem is actually with Norton, just a wild guess though

I'd recommend installing another anti virus program (you may have to uninstall Norton first) and then doing a full scan, I recommend this one.

tmp files are supposed to be temporary, hence the file name. You can, most times, safely delete tmp files. You should not be searching for a program to open the tmp file.

I suggest downloading Adaware and having that run a system scan. Maybe even another virus program and scan with that. If all those say you are virus free, then you might have a different problem.

Im gonna run AVG and see what happens.

I think I stopp ed the attack before it was completed. I got a windows msg saying this foreign entity wanted to install something and I of course declined. Then the system hung up and I rebooted. Now I keep getting that message and everything seems off.
