I am confused? I don't see you mentioned here? I don't recall claiming anyone lacked mental skills, well except for Josh McDaniels, but thats a football thing.

sweety, it has been mentioned more than once about people needing to believe in fairy tales thus implying a lack of mental skills. No one has ever called me out by name on this. But put yourself in my position. Let's say the whole board believed as I do and you were basically the lone stand out. And we kept mentioning in thread and after thread. How would you feel? Tim Tebow can't win no matter what happens in Denver. If he does badly, then people will mock and jeer him. If he does well and in accordance to his beliefs, give credit to God, people will mock and jeer him. It's a no-win. Just keep in mind that in head to head play, he beat Sam Bradford.

Now, besides whatever Fischy did tonight, nobody has attacked you personally. But yes, it seems a good part of the board is atheist and attacks religion in general. Not just your god, but all.

I can see where you're coming from. But don't ever mix the boards temperature on religion as an attack upon you.

And I also see how if you are of serious faith, it makes you feel uncomfortable.

But I hate to tell you, you're going to find that on a lot of boards these days, outside of quilting and gardening boards.

That's pretty reactionary. No one targeted you, or even mentioned you. These are my beliefs. If you feel strongly about yours, articulate them. Maybe I won't agree, but just feeling picked on and saying we/I think you are lacking in intellectual skills isn't fair. Argue your point. Tell me where I went wrong and I'll think about it. Did you watch the Dawkins video or the evolution video? What did you think?

I think as the title states, if anyone was being targeted it was Tebow. Mostly because his sissy weeping and putting bible verses on his face, which is douchey. It's douchey because, well, it's just douchey. I get why he did it but it's just flat out wrong. I believe alot of things deeply, but writing them on my face just because alot of people will see it because I'm on TV is well, how many more times can I say douchey.

He got lots of flak for the commercial, but none from me. Even though I'm not a pro lifer, I think the commercial was well done and not offensive.

Come on, we like you, we ain't trying to hate.

I don't care for religion and don't believe in god. But I do believe guys like Tebow have well meaning motives.
I'm not gonna come down on a guy for trying to do the right thing and using Jesus as a roll model. Now, if he uses his beliefs to justify putting others down or going to war, that's another story.

I hope he does well here in Denver and proves to everyone he can be a great pro. Personally I'm happy about the pick.

i can only comment as a denverite. tebow will be judged in denver on the football field, sadly for him, he will be compared to a version of john elway that never existed. it will be exceptionally difficult for him as it has been for everyone else that's tried.

And how would I feel if everyone believed one thing and me the other? Well that's my life now, except that it involves raising my daughter, and yes I am on the verge of snapping, but it is what it is and I have to figure it out.

Please don't stop posting here, you'd be missed.
 
Yes, what Fischy says is true. He is a walking alcohol receptacle.

I understand the need to stand up for your beliefs, but you should do so frequently....and loudly, just like everyone else here does. Don't allow people to disrespect your beliefs and bottle it up inside of you until you snap and leave.

I never realized that so many of you obviously think I am lacking in intellectual skills. And it kills me to say this but perhaps SBR John was correct in that I don't belong here at "Atheist Central". I have never once attempted to force my beliefs down any one of your throats but did state in a nice polite manner that I am a Bible reading, church going, Jesus believing person. All I really expected in return was common politeness back. Guess that was asking too much? No?

I like all of you. You can be such entertaining people. But the constant references to people like me being insufficient in mental areas gets a little old and annoying.

Those that get pleasure out of having disdain for someone else's spiritual path...(this is not in reference to ANYONE in this thread)...I'll never understand it. Have you ever been to a Bill Maher concert? Every person there seems so happy to hate God, it's pretty disturbing. They have these crazy smiles, they are like zombies...with each anti-Christian epitaph their eyes get wilder and their faces glow in the presence of Maher and his slimey quips.

It was a comment made that I haven't responded to but in some ways it has weighed on my mind. Not that I find piety there. At all. Shoot....when I logged out in a huff I went to Peep's.
